Raising Awareness Against Domestic Violence
Our Mission is to Engage, Educate & Empower as we Promote Safe Dating Practices & Raise Awareness Against Domestic Violence.
Founded in 2015, Fashions for a Purpose (FFAP) is a non-profit organization backed by The Mary Kay Foundation and based in San Luis Obispo County, California. We have since raised over $200,000 to support victims of all forms of domestic violence.
A message from FFAP Founder, Kimberley Victor:
I never dreamt I’d begin a non-profit, or even want to share my personal story, God had a different vision for me. As a survivor of domestic violence (dv) and new to the area, I just wanted to ‘blend in’ and continue working my Mary Kay business, then of 19 years. As my organization grew here, we tragically lost one of my local consultants to a terrifying murder…. Two days later, August 17, 2015, I began my journey with Fashions for a Purpose.
Often I am approached at events, or even out doing my personal shopping, by women that have at some time attended one of our fashion shows. They share how it has saved their marriage and sometimes their lives as they tell me their stories of hearing about and receiving the resources available to them and, in some cases, finding the courage to leave their abuser. There are no words to be able to tell you how this impacts me on wanting to continue this journey.
Thank YOU in advance for helping spread the word, the support financially and prayer.
